SOT is the leading toxicology conference as it provides the most complete and in-depth coverage of toxicology. More than 6,500 toxicologists from more than 50 countries attend. Simulated-Use Extractables: A Risk Mitigation Strategy for Medical Device Toxicological Risk Assessments (TRAs)

Session Description: Due to the requirements for chemical characterization of medical device materials, toxicological risk assessments have become increasingly complex, often yielding equivocal outcomes. Simulated-use extractables studies may be the most appropriate mitigation strategy. Three case studies will be presented to highlight various approaches for different types of patient contact.
